My dream is to one day live in a loft in New York city and work as the chief medical examiner for the city of New York. I also want to own a loft there and have two corgie dogs, one that's white and red named Lucy and another that's white and brown named Audrey, for my two favorite actresses Lucille Ball and Audrey Hepburn. Unfortunately I've already decided to major in music as opposed to forensics and as sad as it sounds, music teachers don't usually make it to New York. But it never hurts to dream right?

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for well over a year. The title of this message is the names we've picked for the baby we'll have someday, God willing. Perhaps the most frustrating part is not having any answers as to what is wrong. We've run test after test and seen doctor after doctor, yet there's just no good reason for us to be having so much trouble. You can never know what God's plans really are for yourself or your family, and it's terribly painful to hand Him the control in this situation, and know you may never get the one thing you want if it's not in His plan for you. We're both very grateful for the blessings we have, but more than heartbroken about the one we've not yet received. Maybe it will be some encouragement to share our dream with so many others who are looking for faith and fellowship. |

I don't know why this number is so important in this case but it has just always been. "126" It's the dream of owning a 126 acre farm. Most of it I'd want to be undeveloped as in raw land, not used for any particular purpose.
I'd have some of the land devoted to growing vegetables and fruit and nut trees but only a few acers. I'd like to spread wild flower seeds all over the place and I would plant herbs where ever conditions were right for their growth but that would be all I'd do. I think it would be cool to have some chickens and maybe a few ducks but no livestock. Perhaps a horse and of course cats and dogs.
Some where on the property I'd like to build a sort of peasnt hut.
If you're familir with the 1998 movie Merlin with Sam Neill, as Merlin Isabella Rossellini as Nimue and Helena Bonham Carter as Morgan La Fey the hut which the witch Morgan La Fey put Nimue is the model.
To build it I would excavate a round hole about 6 feet deep and 15 or 20 feet across. Then I would line the hole with a weaveing of upright poles and branches wolven between them. The roof would be conical and made of thatch and would almost reach the ground. The roof would be constructed in such a way as to shed water when it rained.
It would be just one room with a fire pit in the center. One side would have a sleeping shelf made of stone or wood and fodder and branches for cushion. Other places around the room would be used for different purposes. One part would be for preparing food another would be for making things, a sort of work shop type of affair.
Of course, because of it being part below ground level I would have to build a drainage ditch of some sort, so that when it rained the water would not come inside through the door. It would be just like when camping you dig a little tranch around your tent so that if it rains water flowing from up hill goes around the tent instead of into it.
I don't know if this will ever come true but I will always have the dream.

My wife and I have been together for 15 years, married for 6. 2 years ago we decided to try and start a family. Her mother lost 2 babies to cystic fibrosis so we knew there would be a chance that Angie (my wife) would be a carrier of the disease. She went a got blood work done and as we thought she was a carrier of the gene. The next step was for me to go and get blood work done. I went through so many doctors visits it would make a person crazy. After about 5 months of giving pint after pint of blood we got the bad news. I was also a carrier of the cystic fibrosis gene. We went and saw a specialist and he told us that the odds of my wife and I finding each other with the genes we have is 1 in 38,000. If we have a baby naturally there will be a 60% chance of the baby having the disease. I thought at that time that I could endure anything as long as I had a baby to love. We sat down and told her momabout the news of us carrying the gene. I told her I thought we were going to try and have one naturally. I won't go into detail about what happened next but I will just say that she changed my mind!!!!!!!!! We talked about the envitro process. It is expensive plus we didn't think it was the right thing to do biblically. We talked to a methodist minister that we both trust. In talking with him it put our minds at ease about talking the envitro path. He has a child that is deaf and is diabetic. He told us that if he would have had the opportunity to give her the quality of life he would have done it in a second. We struggled because it cost $33,000for us to go through the process. Needless to say all of this can put a damper on a marriage. I fell out of love with my wife and I don't know how to get it back. We are both miserable. I feel that I am a christian man, some would disagree. I feel in my heart that I have a wonderful relationship with God and he is with me in every heartbeat. I want us (my wife and I) to be happy even if it is not with each other. Life is to short and just like Todd says"dare to dream." When people ask me how I am doing I always say" I am living the dream." So, my dream is to be happy in life and I really want a healthy baby. I do have a little Yorkie that I just adore.....her name is Mally. She is what keeps me going everyday when things look grim. Mally always cheers me up and will alway listen.....just like God. Anyway...thanks Todd for letting me put my dream in your dreambook. My hope is that everyone's dreams come true.
